The research project XplOit has set itself the goal of developing models or a model-based IT platform that allows complications in patients who have received a bone marrow transplant (KMT) to be better predicted. The models that are to be developed in XplOit are among others Consider clinical data, laboratory parameters, viral findings, the status of the immune system and genetic information and calculate individual risk predictions, which can also change during the course of treatment.
The joint project “XplOit”, which was launched in March 2016 and is set to run for 5 years, is being implemented by an internationally experienced, multidisciplinary team of experts from the fields of medicine, systems biology, computational linguistics, and medical and bioinformatics. The company Averbis contributes tools for information extraction from clinical text documents.
