TOPOs is a three-year research project by the BMBF (Federal Ministry of Education and Research).
The aim of the project is the reliable predictability of therapy courses for macular diseases.
Disease-associated OCT data and demographic factors are prepared from vast amounts of data using information technology and automatically classified.
In the future, ophthalmologists can make reliable predictions about the individually expected course of therapy for a patient. Personalized treatment plans guarantee optimal adaptation of the therapy to each individual patient and minimize the risk of recurrence.
The network coordinator is Averbis, further project partners are the Clinic for Ophthalmology at the University Clinic Freiburg, the University of Applied Sciences Mittweida and the University of Rostock.
