Our Story



1990

Medicine meets computer linguistics - the two founders get to know each other in the course of research and lay the foundation for Averbis GmbH.



2000

The two founders, Philipp Daumke and Kornél Markó, establish Averbis and receive a three-year start-up grant from the state of Baden-Württemberg.



2007

We are the first IT company ever to be among the three finalists for the German Founder Award.



2020

We successfully switch our business model from a service company to a product company and focusing on HealthCare, Life Sciences and Patent Industry.



2000

We are one of the world's leading partners in the field of NLP life sciences. My favourite team tool is the KUDO box at Averbis. It allows you to share appreciation with your colleagues in a very creative way. That really is highly motivating and puts you in a good mood.

In general, we have flat hierarchies and an amazing atmosphere between colleagues and management. We can always express our thoughts bluntly.

And we can also partially decide by ourselves about what we want to work on and implement appropriate ideas, which we can discuss with the team to get helpful feedback. That of course is living the dream for a software engineer!
